Letter from Kristy A. Bennett

Dear Baby Steppers,

I just wanted to write to thank you for visiting, participating and contributing to this web site. Way back in 2003 when this domain was first registered I needed somewhere to explore what I do as a parent. This was the purpose of this web site.

Of course, with experience, my approach and views have changed also. I soon realised that parenthood is a journey and I could see that child development and parenting approaches were not the keys to success but rather the skills to be able to see the full spectrum of choices and determine which way is best for you, your child and your family.

However, I did grow to realise that the things many of us struggle with, perhaps more so after children, was the mundane, the things I always took for granted, as well as the simple things that we do to take care of ourselves, our family and the world in which we live.

Finding new ways to undertake housework management and managing my own health have been key to being able to focus my time on my children whenever it is called for. Now, as I have added home education into my home life also, it has become even more important. All these things have changed the nature of Baby Steps Resources to make it what it is today.

For so long the web site looked like 'bits and pieces' as I wrote about whatever was added to my life but we want to end that appearance by opening up the floor to you our readership, to contribute your own pieces of information to help others in their journey of Baby Steps also.

My journey of Baby Steps is also not yet over. So, I would feel that it would be a privilege to learn from you too. Is my home perfectly laid out, decluttered or a non-toxic place of serenity? Not at all. In fact, it, like all things in my life, is a work in progress. Please, don't expect perfection in this web site and please, make it your own too by submitting content and providing feedback on what works for you and what does not.

Welcome again to our web site - I hope that you find all that you are looking for and more!

With thanks

Kristy A. Bennett
